Thursday night (2/15) there are 3 active & retired military performers singing their own songs and playing at the Ray Stevens CabaRay Showroom, during the Indie Country Showdown in benefit of the TN Folds of Honor.
First, Ben Peterson, Founder of Engage Your Destiny & Heroes Honor Festival, wrote and will perform “Wounded Warrior”, sharing his personal journey and realization that God, who so many of us count on, is a warrior, too - and that he’s been wounded as well.
Mike Bahney will follow; Mike is in his 4th year of active duty for the U.S. Army. Mike shares his military experiences with songs like  “Mama Said”, an original about a soldier deployed too long, just wishing to be home. The songwriter relies on his Mama’s words to guide him back.
Donovan Chapman, a well-known and respected songwriter / performer in Nashville, will also appear with Peterson and Bahney. Chapman is known locally for moving songs of military service from a four-generation deep military tradition. Chapman’s popular song  “Brotherhood” and album of the same name was inspired from Donovan's 11 years of service in the USAF.
Regular show tickets for the Indie Country Showdown (Elite & Standard Sections) are $25; use: VETTIX in the Coupon Code box, and get your tickets for only $15.
Nearly 20% of the show Thursday is active and retired military performing live, with real stories to tell and songs to sing, during the Indie Country Showdown.
